Be humble. Be courageous.
In 2015, a large global bank held a technology offsite where the future of technology in banking was discussed. An unassuming individual with soft steps, mild mannerisms, and a gentle voice approached the podium and stated unequivocally that technology vendors (partners) were cheating customers by charging exorbitant prices for technology products and development when the costs could be much lower. The candid feedback provided in the meeting surprised the leadership team. This lively discussion was initiated by none other than Suresh Kamath.
For the first time, we heard this narrative from a hard-core technologist who also ran a business; it was not only provocative but also a significant breakthrough in the new world of technology, making it a living example of courage. This is something that only a tech expert could say, and expertise of this kind is attained through perseverance, study, experimentation, learning from the errors of others, and occasionally, your own mistakes, and a never give up spirit! Even today, a few years later, as I negotiate with technology partners, this input is constantly on my mind. This is what I refer to as “influencing a customer’s lived experience”.
Patterns has spent over a decade in the AI space, creating world-class products and reducing customer risk, and has many satisfied customers and advocates from organizations all over the world, including those in India.

I am also confident that you will continue to improve your financial position, eventually overtaking large technology companies in your industry.
It is time to reflect on your collective and individual aspirations for Patterns and let the aspirations be irrational. One leadership mantra that I have imbibed in my journey thus far is: When a leader faces adversities or challenging times; lead from the front and demonstrate courage; and when a leader is successful, show the utmost humility and give credit to everyone who is part of the success.
