Commercial Bank of Dubai (has kept pace with the disruption in the technological arena As the world wakes up to newer disruptive innovations every day, CBD ensured to grab opportunities at all times, is fundamentally changing how it operates and delivers value to customers and is continually challenging the status quo. In CBDs transformational journey, where I was involved, especially related to automation Patterns contributed as one of the key player. Patterns has developed world class products and in late 2020 when CBD decided to automate its inward clearing processes using Patterns Dexter, digital BOT workers, we were all in awe because the machine learning capabilities were huge.
The path to success is paved with obstacles and the temptation to give up is high. But CBD has a proven track record of successfully shepherding the transitory process. During the inward clearing project, it had a partner like Patterns, who are known for Value Delivery to customers. So the two institutions combined together to create a legendary outcome.
Time savings, greater efficiency, error minimization, higher productivity and better standardization were among the multi fold improvements that resulted after completion of the project. Patterns has an incredible team under Mr. Suresh Kamath, the Managing Director, whom I have had the privilege of knowing him for more than two decades now, from LaserSoft days. Software designers are many, but software magicians are very few Mr. Suresh Kamath belongs to the latter category. He is focused on creating new design practices to improve value of software products and customers (both Financial Institutions and end customers). A gentleman to the core, a thorough professional, a man who knows what he is doing, he is a great motivator who gets the best out of his team always.
Patterns is a customer centric company and it was evident from the way Patterns managed the project. Mr. Natarajan Raman, Patterns face for CBD, along with the wonderful team took complete ownership of the project and was supportive and accommodative throughout its period. Certain control measures that were missed out during the BRD stage were included without showing any annoyance. And as the project progressed, the Patterns team challenged existing procedural steps and shared their brilliant ideas based on their own market experiences and expertise. It is worth mentioning that the signature verification by BOT workers, Vision object recognition etc. played a major role in reducing manual process. Auto Signature verification capability is a major breakthrough and will go a long way if used for all the Operational processes.
CBD Operations and IT Team also played crucial role in making this project a successful one in spite of multiple hurdles and it was possible only due to a great team work and cooperation, with a common goal in mind, from both CBD and Patterns. It was fascinating to have worked with Patterns and both CBD and Patterns benefited mutually from each other, and I personally would like to thank Mr. Suresh Kamath for the wonderful experience and also for inviting me to contribute to The First Word and wishing him and the Pattern s team more success as they continue to create the magic of digital transformation globally.
